21 Days of Yoga: Day 9

Just now getting here? Head back to the beginning to get the full story!
Wow, another day, another post already! It was just a little over 12 hours ago that I completed Day 8. But, after staying up way too late last night, I definitely needed a little wake-up call this morning.
The Day 9 practice is the same as Day 2 (and later, Day 16). It’s a 15-minute morning practice that I did not do in the morning last week. So, after too many nocturnal activities last night, coupled with a fairly busy agenda today, I found this practice very helpful. I staggered out of bed bleary-eyed and fumbled my way downstairs and booted the FatDog off my mat (I guess he thinks it’s soft and comfortable, too).
I found this practice very different first thing in the morning than I did in the late afternoon. It’s relatively slow and gentle, but involves lots of deep breathing and overhead stretching to wake the body up. It’s also short, so there are few excuses not to get it done in the morning. Overall, I enjoyed waking up with this practice, and felt much better afterward, though nothing gets me going in the mornings quite like a big cup of coffee.
So tell me, what gets you going in the mornings?
