21 Days of Yoga: Day 10

21 Days of YogaFirst time reading about the 21-day challenge? Head back to the beginning to get up to date!

Wow, I made it to double digits! It’s been a crazy sort of week – we more or less shut down the last week of the year at work, so I’ve been at the office less than usual, staying up way past my bedtime and just generally not adhering to any sort of schedule. But, I have worked hard to stay consistent in making time for yoga, regardless of what each day happens to have in store.

Today’s practice was the same 20-minute core practice as Day 3. I’m finding that I get more out of each practice the second time around, probably because I can focus more on the actual poses and exercises than on figuring out what I’m supposed to be doing. This evening, I worked extra hard to find the intensity in each sequence and pose. I tried to push myself, and finished feeling a little more of a burn than I did last week. However, I may still add more to it next week, either in the form of another core practice or just by doing more crunches on my own (which I should really be doing everyday anyway).

I started the week with an ambitious list of tasks and projects, and finished today staring at all that I have left to do and wondering where the week went. I am trying to focus on all the things that I did get accomplished, though, like shopping for New Year’s dinner, making important updates to the website at work, helping my mom with her computer (and getting to spend time with her), tidying around the house and finally writing about the Soup Swap. Oh, and staying consistent with the 21-day challenge!

Tomorrow is, of course, the last day of 2011. It hasn’t been a horrible year, but I can’t say I’m sad to see it go. Near the top of my never-ending list of things to do tomorrow is my year in review – assessing how I’ve done on this year’s goals (I cringe to think about it) and setting some new ones for next year. If the 21-day challenge has taught me anything, it has reminded me that I enjoy both yoga and blogging; even more so when I do them regularly. So, integrating a regular yoga practice and writing time into my daily and weekly schedules will definitely be on my list of 2012 goals.

So tell me, what are your yoga goals (or intentions) for 2012?

Ready for more? Check out Day 11!
